Technical Overview

  • Air Handling Equipment: Air Handlers Northern supplied 16 bespoke air handling units (AHUs) engineered to meet stringent acoustic and performance requirements suitable for the library environment.
  • Factory Performance Testing: Two of the AHUs underwent rigorous factory testing at the Salford–Manchester facility, focusing on:
    • Noise emissions
    • Airflow performance
    • Power consumption
    • Air leakage

These tests were carried out in the presence of Oxford University representatives, Long and Partners, and Michael Lonsdale Ltd, ensuring full validation before onsite delivery and installation.

Enhancement Suggestions

To enhance the content further for technical audiences, consider adding:

  • Measured decibel levels, airflow rates (e.g., mÂł/s), and energy usage data.
  • Control strategy and integration details, e.g., how AHUs tie into the building management system (BMS).
  • Commissioning and logging data, if available.
  • Visual aids such as engineering diagrams, noise test results, or installed unit imagery.
  • Client or consultant testimonials on system installation and operation.
